New Eligibility Guidelines
Because of the risks involved, new recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force increase the number of people eligible for lung cancer screening with low-dose CT scans.
Who is a high-risk individual?

- Has a 20+ pack-year smoking history (pack years = average number of packs smoked per day multiplied by number of years smoked)
- Current smoker or have quit smoking in the last 15 years
- Shows no overt signs or symptoms of lung cancer
